ChemAxon Chemistry Releases JChem 5.0

JChem, ChemAxons suite of integrated programs and toolkits for many cheminformatics tasks, has been updated and released as version 5.0. Its updated components include chemical database engines, chemical structure editors and visualization tools, physicochemical property predictors and other tools for chemical structure manipulation. Most components come with an intuitive graphical user interface and all are accessible through Java and .NET API (Application Programming Interface) and are therefore available on most major platforms.

This iteration of the JChem suite includes updates to many of the modules available in previous releases. Of particular note are developments to JChem Base – a module that adds a chemical interface to relational database engines, which can be applied for combined SQL and chemical structure queries, JChem Cartridge – a module for adding chemical operators and JChem indexes to the Oracle SQL language and Reactor – a module that generates reaction products from reaction equations and reactants.

Additionally, JChem 5.0 includes the latest version of the companies Marvin suite – Marvin 5.0. This product has also seen recent updates and includes MarvinSketch - a 2D/3D chemical structure editor for drawing molecules, queries, reactions and Markush structures, MarvinView - a 2D/3D chemical viewer for single and multiple chemical structures, queries and reactions and MarvinSpace - a high performance 3D molecule visualization tool.

Pricing and Availability:
JChem 5.0 is available immediately as a download from the ChamAxon website. Pricing is dependent on the maximum number of substructure and similarity searches that will be submitted per minute through the software. Specific Information regarding this pricing structure can be obtained by contacting ChemAxon directly.

Additionally, JChem is available as free download for limited evaluation of all tools for commercial application and is free for academic research and teaching and for freely accessible, non commercial websites.
